Behind the Player - 15 Year Old Homegrown Signing Julian Hall
We had the privilege of spending a day with him as he showed us his upbringing and what shaped him into the player he is today. He took us on a tour of New York City, visiting the neighborhoods where he grew up, the fields where he used to train, and the hurdles he had to overcome to become a young professional.
The Rising Stars of Football's New Generation
Last week brought several notable developments in American youth soccer. U-15 national team forwards Julian Hall and Tanner Rosborough both inked their inaugural professional contracts. Hall, who is the second-youngest player to sign such a deal, following Bento Estrela, committed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with an option for an additional year. Meanwhile, Rosborough secured a contract with NYRB II, effective until 2024, after which he will join the first team.
2023-24 Ones to Watch
As the 2023-24 MLS NEXT season rapidly approaches, we have identified 15 players worthy of attention in both the U-15 and U-17 age groups. These players have been chosen due to their noteworthy performances during the previous season, encompassing MLS NEXT tournaments, international matches, and various other international tournaments.
MLS Next All-Star Match
The MLS Next All-Star match has been announced, with 44 players being selected, 22 for the Team East and 22 for Team West. To be eligible for the MLS Next All-Star match, you must be born 2005-2007, have played in the regular season, and at least in one of the MLS Next events (Fest, GA Cup, Flex, Cup).
Footy Access Team of the Season
The U-15 final will be remembered as one of the most memorable finals in the history of MLS Next playoffs. The New York Red Bulls showcased their dominance against CF Montréal throughout most of the match. However, despite facing adversity, the New York Red Bulls refused to be discouraged and managed to achieve a miraculous comeback.
