Youth Football Stars Shine Bright Across the Globe
American youth stars are making waves in the football world as they pursue their European dreams. Their journeys highlight the growing influence of North American talent on the global stage. Additionally, the frequency of professional signings for young players continues to rise, with FC Dallas maintaining its strong track record of developing and signing homegrown talent.
Berchimas Chasing Red Dreams
At just 16 years old, Nimfasha Berchimas is living a football fairy tale. The teenage prodigy, who debuted in MLS at the age of 16, continues to make headlines as he trials with the Manchester United Academy. If all goes well, Berchimas could secure a spot with the Red Devils when he turns 18.
In a closed-door friendly last Friday, Berchimas made a statement, scoring against Burnley U18s and reportedly leaving a lasting impression on United’s coaching staff. This isn’t Berchimas’ first dance with Europe—Bayern Munich, who hosted him for a trial in 2022, are also keeping tabs on his progress.
The young forward’s rapid rise began when he signed his first professional contract at age 14, becoming the sixth-youngest in MLS history to do so. Since then, he’s contributed to over 1399 minutes in MLS NEXT Pro last season, starting in 17 matches and bagging six goals. He also made his MLS debut back in February which made him the 9th youngest debutant in MLS history at the time.
All eyes are on Berchimas as he takes on the ultimate challenge of impressing one of the world’s most storied clubs.

Known for his composure, technical skill, and game vision, Torres aims to prove his mettle in European football. Now armed with a Portuguese passport, Torres is eligible for the Portugal National Team and poised for a potential move to European football.
A standout on and off the pitch, the Atlanta United midfielder has represented the U.S. Youth National Team in friendlies in Japan and earned a coveted spot in this summer’s MLS NEXT All-Star game.
His journey highlights North America’s growing reputation as a hub for emerging soccer talent, and Torres is proving he’s ready to shine on the global stage.
Caleb Swann: North Texas SC’s Latest Addition
In domestic soccer news, Caleb Swann has taken the next step in his career, signing a professional contract with North Texas SC for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. A graduate of the FC Dallas Academy, Swann has shone in MLS NEXT tournaments and trained extensively with North Texas SC throughout 2024.
Swann’s journey began with Solar Soccer Club, where he won the 2022 Dallas U15 Cup. After committing to the University of Maryland, Swann pivoted to professional soccer, becoming the ninth FC Dallas Academy player to sign with North Texas SC.
