MLS Next Weekend Recap: The Red Bulls Dominate The Eastern Classic

The Red Bulls Academy dominated the eastern classic against Philadelphia Union. The game between the U-17s was a heavy 4-0 result in favor of the Red Bulls. Gallagher, Olanrewaju on two occasions and the young prospect born in 2009, Paul Sokoloff, scored for the local team in what was their first game after the GA Cup. The Red Bulls U-15’s managed to beat the Philadelphia Union 1-0 as well to make it a 2-0 day for the older Red Bull Academy sides.

FC Dallas managed to pull of a double as well against in-state rivals Austin FC. The FC Dallas U-15s beat Austin FC 2-1 after goals from Austin Chukwu and Dominic Salm. Jonathan Ayala brought the deficit to one with a late goal at the end of the game. The FC Dallas U-17s also achieved a 2-1 victory over Austin FC. The son of the legend Claudio Reyna, Joah Reyna, opened the scoring 8 minutes into the game for Austin FC but FC Dallas managed to recover and after scores from Caua Scabin and Jaydin Contreras the visiting team achieved victory.

Real Salt Lake dominated and beat Seattle Sounders U-17 5-0 after great performances by Omar Marquez and Antonio Riquelme who scored two goals each. The remaining goal was scored by Brice Miller. In U-15 action, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after goals by Landon Booth for the Seattle Sounders and Hunter Peralta for Real Salt Lake.

Jakob Garcia put in a strong perforance for the Orlando City SC U-15’s en route to a 4-1 victory over the New England Revolution. The young forward had a great individual performance and showed why he is considered one of the best players born in 2009.

Young Dual National Prospects Called to Youth National Camps With El Salvador and Guatemala

Several US Youth National team dual nationals have received invitations to national youth camps for El Salvador and Guatemala recently.

In recent years, the United States has emerged as a prolific producer of youth talent, with many players eligible to represent multiple countries due to the nation's rich cultural diversity. In a recent development, the youth national teams of El Salvador and Guatemala organized camps for the U-17 and U-20 age groups, featuring participation from several top MLS Next prospects.

Gabriel Arnold, a standout holding midfielder known for his impressive performance in the GA Cup, received his first call-up to the El Salvador U-20 squad for a camp held in the United States. Joining him were D.C. United goalkeeper Alexander Aguilar, North Carolina FC's Raul Avalos, Sporting Kansas City's Aiden Benitez, and Joshua Sosa from the Barca Residency Academy, who had previously represented Guatemala at the U-20 level.

Meanwhile, Guatemala's U-17 team conducted a domestic camp, welcoming Lorenzo Tuch from the Barca Residency Academy and Robert Mejia from LA Galaxy. Mejia, who had previously featured for the United States U-15 team and competed in the Concacaf championship with Guatemala U-15, had recently been called up to the El Salvador U-17 squad as well.
