The U-16 squad of USYNT is set to kick off the International Dream Cup with a match against Japan U-16. The starting lineup features Nimfasha Berchimas, born in '08, alongside other players born in '07.

U-16 International Dream Cup Starting XI

The U-16 squad of USYNT is set to kick off the International Dream Cup with a match against Japan U-16. The starting lineup features Nimfasha Berchimas, born in '08, alongside other players born in '07. Notably, there are five homegrown signings in the starting XI: Nimfasha Berchimas, Stiven Jimenez, Jonathan Shore, Davi Alexandre, and Christian McFarlane.

The Japan vs. United States match will be televised via J SPORTS ON DEMAND, while the remaining matches for the US team will be streamed on JFATV. The kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 AM Eastern Time.

A New Generation of Footballers

The USYNT are currently hosting an ID camp specifically tailored for the 2009 age group in Chula Vista, California. The camp is scheduled to run from May 28th to June 2nd and promises to be a platform for showcasing the remarkable talents of players hailing from diverse regions across the country. It is worth noting that two exceptional individuals born in 2010, namely William Recupero from Boston Bolts and Robert Turdean from Chicago Fire, have secured their places on the roster. Additionally, it is noteworthy that four players have been called up from both New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, showcasing the prowess of these clubs in nurturing young talent. Furthermore, Adri Mehmeti, was called into the Albanian National Team, but has made the decision to join the United States for now.

New Teams Qualified to MLS NEXT Cup

With MLS NEXT Cup less than three weeks away, several new academies have recently secured qualification. In each age group (U15-U19), a total of 32 teams will earn a spot in the playoffs, which are scheduled to take place from June 17th to June 25th. Teams that do not qualify for the playoffs will have the opportunity to participate in the MLS NEXT Cup Showcase, which will also be held at the Toyota Soccer Center.

Out of the 32 qualifying teams, 16 have secured their spot through MLS NEXT Flex, while the remaining 16 teams will earn qualification based on their standings throughout the season in their respective league tables.
