Footy Access Announce Partnership with Best of Cup

Earlier this week, we revealed a collaboration with Best of Cup to provide comprehensive coverage of an upcoming youth soccer event scheduled from February 9 to 11.

The tournament, hosted at the WSFS Bank Sportsplex in Chester, PA, and the Chase Fieldhouse fields in Wilmington, DE, will feature teams from MLS Next, ECNL, and NAL across the U-15 to U-19 age groups competing together for the first time. The Best of Cup will showcase some of the finest youth soccer talents in America, highlighted by the Uncommitted Games, where top players will compete in front of hundreds of college coaches.

The Best of Cup promises to be a unique and thrilling event, bringing together the best teams from major American youth leagues for the first time. This competition offers a platform for top-level play, with the best players striving for excellence. It is not only essential for the development of these players but also holds significance for the youth football landscape within the country.

Philadelphia Union vs. New York Red Bulls: The East Coast Classic

On Saturday, February 3, the New York Red Bulls will face the Philadelphia Union in what will be the first match between both teams this season. As expected, these matches promise to be very interesting. In the U-15 age group, the Philadelphia Union boasts a record of 9 wins, 1 draw, and 4 losses this season, with Malik Jakupovic leading as its top scorer with 12 goals so far. Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls come into the game with a record of 6 wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses.

In the U-17 age group, Philadelphia Union arrives as the only team in the U-17 age group that is undefeated so far with 12 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses, while New York Red Bulls arrives with 7 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses.

The History of the Matchup

Both teams have engaged in closely contested battles based on last season's results in the U-15 and U-17 age groups. In the initial half of the last season, the New York Red Bulls hosted the Union in Jersey, where both Red Bull squads secured victories over the Union. The U-15s clinched a 1-0 win, and the U-17s experienced a thrilling 3-2 victory in a five-goal spectacle.

During the latter part of the season, the Philadelphia Union demonstrated excellent form. They achieved a resounding 3-0 victory at the U-15 level, with Cavan Sullivan netting a brace and Gabriel Wesseh securing one in the final moments. Additionally, the U-17 Philadelphia Union team dominated with a 5-1 win.

The upcoming game will take place at WSFS Bank Sportsplex in Chester, PA. The U-17s will kick off at 11 AM, followed by the U-15s at 1:30 PM.
