USYNT international Cole Campbell made his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Campbell, an 18-year-old wide player, came onto the field two minutes from the end of regulation time against Augsburg, replacing Donyell Malen. Despite getting only injury-time minutes, this is a huge step in the young star’s career as he is one of the latest Americans to debut for the German giants

Born in Houston, Campbell has been with the club since the summer of 2022 and signed his first professional contract earlier this year. He scored 18 goals and added 19 assists in 52 games at the under-17 and under-19 levels, proving that he is ready for first-team football.

The beautiful game runs in Cambell's veins, as he is the son of former Iceland women's national team forward Rakel Karvelsson. Campbell was also eligible to represent the Scandinavian nation but opted to switch to the U.S. and was called up to the under-19 squad for the first time this past March.

He later went on and marked his international debut with two goals in a 3-2 win over England in Morocco.
